If you noticed the most recent uploads you will see that I did my 1st shoot with actual people.
YAY ME!
I was a bit nervous considering I had never shot people before and my camera is not the best in the world. Luckily, the people were friends so it wasn't a professional gig. It was just something I was asked to do for them cause they knew I took pictures.
My wonderful models from Mighty Motor City RockerZ Breakdance Crew did a great job. Only two members from the crew wanted to go this time, but it was better that way for me. My cousin B-Boy Atrocity and his friend B-Boy Joey Rok were full of energy which made the shoot that much easier. They were pretty natural in front of the camera and needed little to no direction. Most of the poses were their idea, I just had to roll around on the ground and move around a lot trying to get the right light.
A little more planning on either side would have helped though. We wasted about 30 minutes just trying to find a place to park. No one had the cash to pay for a parking lot/garage. After that however things went smoothly.
I wish I had better gear to take pics for them with. I had fun and I hope they did too. As you can see I got quite a few good shots from the 2 hour session we had. There was a lot of pictures we couldn't keep because they were too blurry or the color was slightly off. I blame my camera for those, since I can't shoot anything higher than ISO200 with it. There was a few more shots underground we had that would have been great if they were brighter or less blurred. We ended up with around 400 shots and managed to keep 50 or so, I'm content with that.
Here's B-Boy Atrocity's MM Link:
[link]He hasn't done anything yet as far as modeling really. His senior pics are all that is currently on his MM Profile. He'll probably put some from our shoot up as well. Needless to say, he loves the camera and the camera loves him. He takes great care of himself and is very intelligent. I think he'd make a great fashion model but I'm probably slightly bias because he's my cousin.
I know I found it easy to take his picture even though I was nervous.
Hopefully they will like the pictures enough to want to shoot with me again. Perhaps with more members from the crew next time. I appreciate the opportunity they gave me to work on and learn some things about yet another aspect of photography. As I continue to grow as an artist so do they. Next time we might get some even better shots. Even though I'll still have the same crappy camera.

Anyway, feel free to let me know what you think of the shots. As always please respect the models.
